Lower Unit Service

What’s involved in a Lower Unit Service?
Remove lower unit, inspect water pump housing, water tube, impellor & seals, gear shaft & driveshaft. Regrease driveshaft & gear shaft splines to powerhead. Check & change gear case oil. Remove Prop, regrease prop shaft & re-fit. Re-assemble and water tank test to check running temprature.

100hr or Annual Service

What’s involved in an Annual Service?
Lubricate all lubrication points. Replace spark. Check engine fuel filter for contaminants. Replace/clean water separating fuel filter. Inspect compressor air intakes filter-Optimax Inspect alternator belt-EFI and Optimax models. Check corrosion control anodes. Drain and replace gear lubricant. Check power trim fluid. Run & Test temperature of outboard. Check battery levels, wiring and connectors. Check control cable adjustments. Lubricate splines on the drive shaft, prop shaft and shift shaft. Check Water Pump Impellor & Housing. Check tightness of bolts, nuts and other fasteners. Inspect Timing Belt. Change engine oil and replace the oil filter. Yamaha Computer Report – History/Diagnostics/Fault-EFI models.
